The fascination in resuming historical artistic modes has stimulated the development of styles and aesthetics in dance. Like trying to form a tradition and, at the same time, be inserted in time, such procedures postulate what it is called ‘constructed genealogies’: expressive mediations between past and present. In this paper, I discuss these genealogies through the study of recent reinterpretations of Greek dance.
